About This Racket
MacGregor is an American sports company known mainly for Golf. In 1829, when two English immigrant woodworkers opened a factory in Dayton, Ohio. Initially, the company specialized in producing hand-carved wooden shoe lasts, utilizing a new lathe-based technique that improved production efficiency.From 1875 to 1897, MacGregor underwent significant transformation with the addition of partners John McGregor and Edward Canby, who shifted the focus towards manufacturing golf equipment. By 1897, MacGregor became one of America’s first manufacturers of golf shafts and clubs. In 1930s they tried their hand at Tennis with the Winton Wood Racket. Some of their models were made in Japan; others in Taiwan. Other may have been outsourced to Rawlings to manufacture.
MacGregor main this higly unsual steel shaft version around 1960 with a stunning red gloss finish, nylon strings and trebling.
