About This Racket

This is a racket from the sports brand Intersport. Intersport began in the late 1960s when 10 national buying organizations united in Berne, Switzerland, forming the first international sports-based retail group. The company quickly expanded, becoming the official sports retailer at several Olympic Games in the 1970s. The 1980s saw the launch of Intersport’s exclusive brands and strategic partnerships with major global sports brands. By the early 1990s, Intersport had over 3000 locations worldwide and continued to grow, expanding into Eastern Europe, the Middle East, China, Australia, and South America. The company adapted to changing market trends, including the rise of athleisure, and embraced digital transformation with a dedicated office in Amsterdam. Today, Intersport stands as a global omni-channel specialist, with more than 1 million customers daily. It commissioned around 10 rackets which did not sell particular well, but remain a collectors curiosity. Some were made in England, some in Italy.

About Sondico

Sondico was originally founded as a sport accessories manufacturer by Mr Sondi in India. The company relocated to Oldham near Manchester where it produced quality football equipment. Sondico is best known for its footballs and football accessories. Sondico experienced a boom during the 1960s and 1970s. Whereas previously goalkeepers played bare handed or wearing simple gloves, the Sondico goalkeeping gloves offered increased protection and improved grip. Sondico branched out into Squash and Tennis in the early 80s and struggled to make an impact. They were considered a budget brand and didnt sell well out of the UK. However some of their products are surprisingly good like this Sabre. The poly strings are really good, but are they original? I am not sure. I found
