About This Racket

Also known by the code ads 030. Adidas witnessed the success of Donnay, Wilson and Dunlop in tennis during the 1960s and wanted to grab some of the action. They entered tennis in 1970s with some excellent models. Initially they sponsored Stan Smith in 1971 to wear their shoes and had unexpected success so they developed a series of wooden rackets for Ilie Nastase starting with the Haillet racket. But he was a perfectionist and dissatisfied with it. Around 1978 they developed a core series of Ash wood laminated rackets with stunning liveries and superior leather grips. Their grips were both ridged and perforated on many models. Although expensive…they quickly became big sellers.

Adidas History

The adidas brand is one of the most famous brands ever. This German company has an iconic name and a characteristic logo of three stripes – 3 stripes, which are inherent to this brand, which are known all over the world. Adidas is currently one of the largest manufacturers of sports and leisure clothing, footwear and accessories in the world. What is the history behind this fashion and sports icon?

They started in the washroom and gradually conquered the world. Every great story has a beginning. This one started in a small town in Bavaria, Germany. Adi Dassler started in his mother’s washroom, registered “Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik” in 1924 and began to provide athletes with the best possible sports equipment. A few years later, runner Lina Radke won a gold medal in Amsterdam in his sneakers. These were the first rewards and milestones – and only the beginning of the adidas history story.

Adidas was founded in 1949 by Adolf (Adi) Dassler at the age of 49 again under the name “Adi Dassler adidas Sportschuhfabrik”, after falling out with his brother Rudolf. He subsequently founded his own competing company, which we know today under the name Puma. Despite the fact that the brothers never reconciled, their competitive struggle was responsible for the fact that both brands rocketed into the public consciousness, which was further supported by the fact that the sports products from both of their workshops reached top quality. The company starts with 47 employees in the small town of Herzogenaurach. In the same year, he registered the shoe, which included the registration of the soon-to-be-famous adidas 3-Stripes. Later, they also started producing the famous Franz Beckenbauer warm-up sets.

The ‘70s brought us iconic music, culture, and fashion, as well as prominent moments in sports history. From the Telstar, the World Cup’s first official soccer ball, to the first edition of the cult favorite adidas Superstar, the ‘70s proved to be an influential period for today’s culture. The ‘80s broke barriers in culture as well, with Run-D.M.C garnering a cult following with the M45k Best bomber jacket. New York Marathon legend Grete Waitz logged iconic miles in the Atlanta shoe. The Hercules shoe inspired a high-top revolution in the music industry, and the cushioning elements of the ‘80s inspired later shoes like the adidas NMD. in 2009, Andy Murray became adidas’ highest-paid athlete with a five-year contract worth $24.5 million. The brand also introduced Climalite and Climacool technologies in their apparel line. Currently, adidas sponsors players like Garbiñe Muguruza, Angelique Kerber, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Alexander Zverev.
